the cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

MUNICIPAL PARTNERED WITH DESTROY DUCHENNE TO RAISE MONEY FOR DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY RESEARCH

Elijah Stacy is the founder of Destroy Duchenne. He is driven by a vision to save his own life, his brother’s life, and the lives of countless others affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Elijah is someone who embodies the MUNICIPAL mindset and is putting in the work to do something that's never been done before. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy causes progressive muscle weakness and atrophy. The life expectancy of those with the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy disease is 25 years – there is no cure, yet.

Sadly, Elijah lost his longtime friend and talented artist, Ryan Gomez, to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2023. Elijah is making sure that Ryan’s legacy lives on through his incredible artwork. One of his prized paintings, LA PIRAMIDE DE LUNA (which he painted after visiting the pyramids built outside of Mexico City), is the featured graphic on the back of this year's fleece hoodie. All proceeds from the sales will go towards helping Destroy Duchenne find a cure.

The meaning behind the destroy duchenne logo

The graphic 01-79 represents the 79 exons that make up the dystrophin gene. The dystrophin gene provides protein that builds muscle. We are all not born as muscle making machines. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy steals from those exons and causes progressive muscle weakness and atrophy.

We want to give a voice and a platform to those pressing on to find a cure. Please get involved with Destroy Duchenne, spread awareness on social (@destroyduchenne) and help transform the lives of people living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases.
