MUNICIPAL PARTNERED WITH DESTROY DUCHENNE TO RAISE MONEY FOR DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

Elijah Stacy is the founder of Destroy Duchenne. He is driven by a vision to save his own life, his brother’s life (Kai, pictured at the top of the page), and the lives of countless others affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

He’s someone who embodies the MUNICIPAL mindset and is putting in the work to do something that's never been done before. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy causes progressive muscle weakness and atrophy. There is no cure, yet.

The life expectancy of those with the disease is 25 years.

Ryan Gomez (pictured) was a talented artist and longtime friend of Elijah's. He created and sold dozens of acrylic paintings with proceeds supporting Destroy Duchenne.

Sadly, Ryan passed away at the age of 25 from DMD complications in 2023.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE LOGO

The graphic 01-79 represents the 79 exons that make up the dystrophin gene.

The dystrophin gene provides protein that builds muscle. We are all not born as muscle making machines. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy steals from those exons and causes progressive muscle weakness and atrophy.

We want to give a voice and a platform to those pressing on to find a cure. Please get involved with Destroy Duchenne, spread awareness on social (@destroyduchenne) and help transform the lives of people living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases.
